Do you have to register a Xiaomi scooter?
Yes. Since 2026 every e-scooter must be registered with the DGT to be ridden, whatever the brand (Royal Decree 52/2026). It also needs the plate, insurance and, for the rider, a helmet.
Is your Xiaomi certified? The models on the DGT list
These are the 24 Xiaomi models on the DGT’s official list, updated on 23/10/2026. Look for yours by model or by the certificate number on the plate.
Some Xiaomi models are listed with a technical code instead of the trade name (for example, DDHBC09LQ). That code is on the same plate or on the technical sheet.

Where is the certificate number?
On the manufacturer’s black metal plate, in the “Nº certificado” field: one letter and four digits, such as B1134. It is usually at the base of the stem, under the deck where you stand or near the rear wheel. It is also on the technical sheet.
The serial number, the other piece of information we need, is on the same plate. More in the scooter’s certificate number.
What if your Xiaomi isn’t on the list?
Older Xiaomi models, such as the M365, Pro 2 or 1S, do not appear on the DGT list under those names. Check the plate: if it has a certificate number, look for it in the table; if not, it depends on when it was sold.
- If it was sold before 22 January 2024 and has no certificate number, it can be registered as a “non-certified vehicle”, but it can only be ridden until 22 January 2027.
- If it was sold later without a certificate, it cannot be registered: complain to the shop.
We explain it in certified or non-certified scooter.
What we need to register your Xiaomi
- Your DNI, or your NIE with your address in Spain.
- A photo of the scooter’s plate showing the serial number.
That’s all: we don’t ask for the invoice or the technical sheet. If you don’t have Cl@ve, a digital certificate or a driving licence, we create a 48-hour digital certificate for you for €10 more.
