Do you have to register a Kukirin scooter?
Yes. Since 2026 every e-scooter must be registered with the DGT to be ridden, whatever the brand (Royal Decree 52/2026). It also needs the plate, insurance and, for the rider, a helmet.
Is your Kukirin certified? The models on the DGT list
These are the 2 Kukirin models on the DGT’s official list, updated on 23/10/2026. Look for yours by model or by the certificate number on the plate.
Careful: there are only two Kukirin models on the list, the G2 and the G2 Pro. Other best-sellers, such as the G2 Max, G3 or G4, do not appear under those names.
| Brand | Model | Certificate |
|---|---|---|
| KUKIRIN | G2 | C1011 |
| KUKIRIN | G2 Pro | A1156 |
Is your model there? We register it for €35, including the fee and VAT.

Where is the certificate number?
On the manufacturer’s black metal plate, in the “Nº certificado” field: one letter and four digits, such as C1011. It is usually at the base of the stem, under the deck where you stand or near the rear wheel. It is also on the technical sheet.
The serial number, the other piece of information we need, is on the same plate. More in the scooter’s certificate number.
What if your Kukirin isn’t on the list?
This is what we are asked about Kukirin most, because many are bought online. Check the plate: if it has no certificate number, it depends on when it was sold.
- If it was sold before 22 January 2024 and has no certificate number, it can be registered as a “non-certified vehicle”, but it can only be ridden until 22 January 2027.
- If it was sold later without a certificate, it cannot be registered: complain to the shop.
We explain it in certified or non-certified scooter.
What we need to register your Kukirin
- Your DNI, or your NIE with your address in Spain.
- A photo of the scooter’s plate showing the serial number.
That’s all: we don’t ask for the invoice or the technical sheet. If you don’t have Cl@ve, a digital certificate or a driving licence, we create a 48-hour digital certificate for you for €10 more.
